Teachers Guide

Welcome to The Junior Webmaster's International Challenge.

The Role of the Teacher/s:

  • The Teacher acts as a guide, directing the students to information and providing technical help where necessary.

  • There may be more than 1 Support Teacher, but only 1 Teacher acting as the contact person.

  • The Support Teacher can help with time management skills and group dynamics. They need to periodically check on the teamwork aspect as well as time management.

  • Assistance is given by the Support Teacher when required for Interviews and out of school visits, as needed.

  • The Support Teacher needs to ensure that all Rules have been adhered to and particularly in the copyright area.

  • The Support Teacher must also ensure that Parent permission slips and Principal permission is gained and sent to Gigglepotz.com (If Photos of students are being used)

  • Contact with the Junior Webmasters International Challenge staff must be maintained to ensure the Team's entry is official.

What is it?

Students research the topic - 'Kids 4 Peace', and then produce a web page or web site prepared by their team. The Research, planning and web designing time will take approximately 2-3 months.

The Junior Webmasters International Competition is open to all students studying in Grades 3 -12.

    Who can participate?

  • All Teams must have at least 2 students enrolled at the same school.

  • Home school students may negotiate their entries with the Project Manager at Gigglepotz.com. Contact gigglepotz2002@hotmail.com for more information.

  • Each Team must have ONE Support Teacher who may help with technical problems.

  • The Web site must be researched and planned by the students only.

  •   The Support Teacher must be a teacher at the school and may NOT help with any of the research or design of the web site.

  •   Each school may sign up as many Teams of students as it likes.
