    Writing for a Purpose

CARD # 1 : Write a Description of a person in your family. Include height, hair eyes, etc., Also include their personality. Illustrate.

CARD # 2 : Write a Note to the Teacher. You are sick and have to write a Note excusing yourself from school for two days.

CARD # 3 : Write a letter to the Mayor of your city about the lack of playground equipment in your area. Suggest what the Mayor could do to help the children in your area.

CARD # 4 : You have just attended a friend's Birthday party. Write a letter to their Mom to say thank-you.

CARD # 5 : Write an Invitation to a friend for your Birthday Party. Include date, time, place, and any other important information.

CARD # 6 : Write a Prayer thanking God for all the things you have been given.

CARD # 7 : Write a Song to teach Kindergarten childen the Days of the Week. Record it on the Tape-recorder.

CARD # 8 : Write Instructions to make a kite. Remember to write the Instructions clearly and step-by step.

CARD # 9 : Write Directions for making a Pizza. Include Ingredients and Method.

CARD # 10 : Write a Telephone Conversation between your Dad and the Principal. Your Dad would like to know when your basketball practice sessions begins.

CARD # 11 : Design and Write a Card for Valentine's Day. Include a Poem of four lines in the Card.

CARD # 12 : Write a Menu for a new Restaurant for Kids, opening up in your neighborhood. List drinks, Main meals and Desserts.

CARD # 13 : You bought a toy for your sister's birthday. However, the toy is damaged. Write a message you will leave at the store. Be sure to describe the toy, price and when you will bring the toy in to exchange it.

CARD # 14 : Write an Email to your Mom or Dad, describing what you did at school today.

CARD # 15 : Choose a Book from the Classroom Library, you have read. Make Mini-Poster advertising the Book to your friends.

CARD # 16 : Write a letter persuading your teacher to take you on a field trip to _______. Remember to include why the field trip would be interesting.

CARD # 17 : Write an Acronym about a friend's name. B for beautiful. Use a Dictionary to find interesting words.

CARD # 18 : Using the Map, write directions to travel into the city. Be sure to use directions like left, right, turn etc.,

CARD # 18 : Give a Test of 10 Word Wall words to a friend. Write out the corrections three times each.

CARD # 19 : Write a Time-Line of your Life. Include the year and important events of your life.

CARD # 20 : Write a Cartoon using Speech bubbles. Use any 5 words from Word Wall in your Cartoon.
