Do
your students love writing adventure stories? At Writers
Connect, they can write a
different global story each month!
|
|
Try some
of these ways to use them in your classroom:
-
Students work
in partners and read the story online
-
Assign reading
the book for extra-credit homework ( students with computers at home
only )
-
After reading
the story - students re-tell the story using pictures / short talk /
written summary
-
Students write
how they felt when reading the story. They write a reflective piece
expressing their thoughts about the main character of the story.
-
Teachers, print
the Book and staple together to make a Class Book for individual or
group reading.
-
Students answer
questions about what was read.
-
Students can
record the words not recognized on a sheet of paper for review by the teacher.
-
Students may
read the story into a tape recorder as it is being viewed online.
This allows the teacher to review a child's reading at a later date.
-
Students are
given flashcards of common words in the story. As they read they
match the flashcards with the words on the screen. An excellent
matching activity!
We hope you
find many useful ways to provide your students with enjoyable reading
activities using our 'Read to Succeed' Online Books.
