Classes will read Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume. After reading the book, students will write their own tale of an experience they've had in fourth grade. These stories should be written using at least three paragraphs. All stories should have a title. Student-drawn illustrations, if included, should be scanned and emailed to Miss Hardison. Both the student and teacher's names must be included with the illustrations. This project begins on March 1, 2002 and ends on May 1, 2002. Check out this new Project internet project entitled "Our Tales Of A Fourth Grade Nothing."

The Angel Project is an international craft activity sponsored by Clapper Publishing of suburban Chicago. The company has invited people to make ornament-sized angels in memory of the victims of the September 11th tragedies. Staff members will collect the angels and deliver them to New York City, Washington, DC, and Pennsylvania for a special memorial service Christmas week. The deadline for receiving the artwork is December 7th, 2001. One design is for a New York City firefighter angel, and the other is a simple clothespin figure. In addition, we have linked to The Angel Project Web site where the company has provided more designs. We think that making angels is a wonderful way to remember those who lost their lives on September 11th. Even if you are not able to deliver the Angels to NY, we hope this activity is one you can use in your classroom.
