Hello from Australia
Dear Mrs Nash
and class
Hello from 2D
in Australia.
Our
school is called Logan Reserve State School. We are about 20 minutes
drive from Brisbane, which is the capital city of Queensland, Australia.
There are
21 children in our class. There are 15 classes in our school. We have
classes from Year 1 to Year 7, and also a Preschool on the same campus.
In two
weeks time we will be on holidays for two weeks. The last day of this
term, 21 September, is our school Sports Day. We all have to run in a
race and play ball games. It is Springtime now in Australia. The
first day of September was the first day of Spring. We didn't have a
really cold Winter, and now the weather is getting warmer. We don't
have to wear our jumpers and sweatshirts all day now. The weather
might get cool again, but we shall have to wait and see. |

QUESTIONS
What is
your weather like right now?
How many
children do you have in your class? How many classes
are there in your school?
We have a news-zine (newspaper/magazine)
that our class has made. We publish a new issue every two weeks. We
write stories and articles for it.
We are
also running a Post
Office
- collecting and delivering mail throughout the school. There is a
lot of mail going around the school.
Do you have a project
that you are working on? What things do you like doing
in class? What are you learning about in class?
We have three
computers that
we share with a Year 1 class beside us. Do you have computers in your classroom?
We will look
forward to getting an email from you. We like getting mail from other
classes. Write soon. :-) Goodbye for now from, Year 2D |

Dear 2D in Australia,
Hello and thankyou for the email that you sent to us.
We have 21 students just like you! We are studying
plants and apples. There are 5 second grade classes in our school. We
liked your class picture. We are not allowed to send student pictures
over the internet so we will have to mail you pictures of us as soon
as we get them. Our school starts at the 4
year old kindergarten level and then goes us to 5th grade. We
have 3 recesses and we are learning Science and Reading vocabulary
words. Our class planted Brassica seeds and now we are watching them
grow! We are learning different ways to develop new plants. There is
a kid named Jordan in our class too.
Mrs. Nash's classroom has 3 new students! Next week we
will work on a special project called "Cinderella
Around The World!" Have a great year and we look
forward to hearing from you again! Oh....we forgot! We are in the
season of fall! Our cold months are from December to March! If you

Hello Room
2D,
Thank you for your nice letter. We
hope you enjoyed your Holiday. We are about to enjoy what we call
Halloween? Do you have Halloween in Australia?
Halloween is a fun holiday for kids
to dress up in different costumes and go from door to door asking for
a "Trick-Or-Treat!" Pumpkins are used a lot here for
Halloween. We made pumpkin faces and wrote a story about how our
heads were turned into pumpkin heads.

We
have been growing plants
We are sending you a picture of our
pumpkin heads and the bats that we decorated. We hope you like the
pictures. We have been studying plants in Science. We are sending you
some of our plant pictures too. Guess what? We worked on the Cinderella
Project just
like you did. We hope you enjoy our letter and our pictures! We can't
wait to hear from you again!
