Priory Woods is running a web based writing and artwork project and invites kids everywhere to log on and take part. Visit the 'If I were a Giant' Project.' The project aims to encourage kids to write stories and create artwork around the theme of 'If I were a giant'. Children can log on to the web and write stories using an easy to understand symbol supported writing frame / form. Their stories are then sent and published on the web site the very next day. Artwork can also be sent and will be displayed in the Gallery of Giants.
Each story is linked to a page about the author's country, where visitors can see images from that country together with an animated flag. We expect to receive stories from Europe, US, Australia and many other countries too. The Giant area itself is child friendly, simple to navigate and uses easy to understand language. Notes for teachers are available on the main page. Please take a look and consider allowing some of your pupils to take part. We have already had stories from both special and mainstream schools around the country, which your pupils may also like to read. |
