My administration is one of the best I have seen and I feel I am very fortunate to be where I am. I teach first grade here at Carman and our school year has just gotten started. I have 18 students. Some live in the suburb of St. Louis where our school is and some are bussed in from the city. Some of my children live in houses, some in apartments and some in trailers. We have the opportunity to have a very diverse class. We love to read, write, think, and construct everyday. We love to learn and enjoy doing projects and group activites. We learn reading in centers on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and do a variety of activities. Right now we are studying China as one of the countries participating in the Olympics. Each first grade class picked a country and then we will share what we have learned. We are a fight free school and work hard and being Fight Free everyday, all week, every week of school. As a teacher, I teach my children to tell people how they feel when they don't like something without causing a conflict. We also learn to keep hands, feet, and other objects to ourselves as to not cause a conflict. And if a conflict does occur we learn to always get an adult involved.
