Animal Olympics is a Maths
project, which encourages students to look at the speeds of animals
and decide if humans would win if animals were allowed to compete in
the Olympics.
Daily
Life in Ancient Greece
This site not only looks at the
daily life of the ancient Greeks, their families, clothing, weddings,
houses, school and food, it also has a unit on the ancient Olympic
games. Students can imagine they were from different city-states and
play games.
Faces
of the Olympics
A collaborative Internet
project, developed by schools in the University Cluster, Ballarat
Victoria, Faces of the Olympics aims to develop students' research
skills. Students aged from 10 to 16 years, are asked to contact and
interview athletes, officials or spectators from their home town who
have participated in an Olympics, and complete a report.
The
Great virtual Olympic adventure
Spike, the virtual thorny
devil, and Eddie the virtual frilled-neck lizard have developed a
project to encourage students around the world to study the history
of the Olympic Games and to discover the excitement of the Sydney
2000 Olympic Games events. Spike and Eddie have 'won' a virtual trip
to the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. They would like to take you with
them! Anyone can participate! Plan your travel adventure and decide
which events you would 'virtually' visit. A comprehensive activity
book is also available for downloading. |

"welcoming the world" and multiculturalism in an Olympic
