Chapter 3 -Book 4

Written by Holy Family Senior School, Ireland 6th class

(Teacher Anna Marie Darmody)

Though Santa seemed happy on the surface and was truly grateful to Rick, Emma, Joseph and Shelby for trying they're best to make him feel at home, he still pined for his beloved homeland.

In particular he missed Mrs. Claus, the elves, the dormice, the polar bear, the artic fox, the snow geese, his rocking chair and of course the reindeer.

It was indeed time to leave---- time was running out and so much work to be done.

Reluctantly he bade farewell to Emma, Rick, Joseph, and Shelby. Santa reassured them that they need not worry about his long trip back to the North Pole.

He chuckled to himself knowing this is the one job in the world where old age is an asset. His biggest concern was not for having the toys made but for getting them delivered on time. Was Rudolph still up to the job?

Santa's worst nightmare was realised when he finally arrived home. There on the table was a letter from Rudolph himself protesting that he was tired, over-worked and under paid. What was Santa Claus to do?
