Chapter One - Book 4

Written by Moorak Primary School, Year 2/3 class South Australia (Teacher Lesley Okholm)

It was so very hot as Emma and Ric helped put the final decorations on our school float for the Christmas Parade. Every child from the school had helped to make it look as colourful and happy as possible, and now we all sat and waited at the end of the town's main street, until it was time for us to go too.

We followed a brass band who played Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. They sure were loud!

Our float looked just like a day out at the beach. We had called it 'Australian Beach Christmas', and we were all dressed in our bathers , hats, sunnies and sunscreen. "Slip, Slop, Slap" is the message we wanted to give.Christmas in Australia is usually hot, so Santa gets asked for many toys like Slip and Slide and Water Golf and we always have to be careful to stay out of the sun!

We waved and smiled as much as we could on the trip down the Commercial Street. We saw our friends and family, and made so many people happy.....

Now that is over, we start to plan our next big adventure....visiting all the Christmas light houses around our small town....Emma and Ric just can't wait.....how many more days is it?
