Tom and Sarah quickly prayed that the sun would quit shining so that the snowchildren would not melt. Miraculously, the temperature dropped and snow started to fall. The snowchildren were regenerated. Sarah expelled a sigh of relief and said, " That was a close!" Tom staring in amazement said, " Maybe this whole magical deal is trying to tell us something. Maybe we need to do something." "But what?" cried the children. "I know, lets have a nativity scene for Christmas. And Mr. Johnson is just the person to help us." Shouted Sarah. The children gathered at their teachers door. Being cordial and originally from the south, Mr. Johnson invited them in to warm up in front of a roaring fire. While they told him the whole shebang, they snacked on delicious divinity, nachos, and hot wassail. Mr. Johnson said, "Id be delighted to help you with the nativity scene."
That night, which was Christmas Eve, Tom dressed as Joseph, Sarah as Mary, and the snowchildren became kings, shepherds, and baby Jesus. Just as they took their places in front of the school Mr. Johnson turned into a real angel. He began to glow brightly as he rose and hovered with graceful wings above the children. Behind him a huge Christmas tree glowed in the darkness. Slowly the snowchildren began to melt again.
