"I want a Barbie!” screamed Allie.

“Now, that doesn’t make sense for both of us!” exclaimed Austin.

“We’ve never seen snow? I heard the newsmen say it is snowing in Kansas,” Allie said.

They looked at the Gumnut Angel and said in unison, “We wish to see snow in Kansas!”

“Your first wish shall be granted,” replied the Gumnut Angel. “Close your eyes and click your heels three times and repeat, ‘There’s no place like Kansas’.”

As they opened their eyes, they saw snow falling on the Konza prairie and miles of baron wheat fields. Children were sledding and making snow angels. Suddenly they heard a shout “WATCH OUT!” They quickly jumped out of the way as a sled came flying past, on board a girl and her dog.

She ran back to make sure they were all right. “Hi! I’m Dorothy and this is Toto. Are you all right?”

“That was close, but we’re fine. We’re from Texas and came to Kansas to see snow for Christmas.”

“Then you came to the right place! Let’s go sledding!”

“Awesome!” chimed Allie and Austin.

They sledded until they felt like icicles.

Dorothy invited them for hot chocolate.

Suddenly the Gumnut Angel appeared. “It’s time for your second wish!”
