Austin opened the door and saw the most beautiful thing, an angel, but she was wearing a gumnut dress with wattle wings. Hello Austin she said. How did you know my name? asked Austin. Im the Gumnut angel from Australia. Ive been telling the good little boys and girls what Christmas is really all about. Would you like to hear what I have to say?.
Oh yes please replied Austin. But Austin could you do me a teeny favour? she asked. Oh yes, anything he responded. Could you please get your little sister Allie so that she can hear the story too. Austin called for Allie to come to the door and Allie came running. Wow, Allie said, Who is the pretty butterfly lady?. No silly, shes the Gumnut angel from Australia, Austin told Allie. Shes come to tell us what Christmas is really all about.
"A long time ago a baby called Jesus was born in a stable in Bethlehem" the angel told them. "In Australia we celebrate his birth by having family barbeques and playing cricket in the hot steaming sun surrounded by gum trees and wattle bushes. Christmas isnt all about presents. It is about Jesus birth."
Then she gave them three wishes. |
