Chapter Two Written by Tamarac Middle School, Troy, NY. (Teacher - David Anderson) Sarah and Tom decided to build some snow children as friends to play with. Sarah picked up a handful of wet cold snow. She shaped it into a ball and began to roll a head. She then built a larger ball for the body. A giant one was made for the bottom. She stacked all three together. Tom used charcoal for eyes, a carrot for the nose, and a few small shiny stones to shape a smiley face. He took an old red-checkered wool scarf and wrapped it tightly around the snowman. Sarah and Tom made six more snow children. They stepped back to admire their snow family. Then they hugged them all and magically they came to life with the Christmas spirit from the children. Then Sarah, Tom and the snow children went to Mr. Johnsons house to bake sugar and gingerbread cookies. They decided to bake the cookies for the homeless families of the town. They rolled the dough out on the table. With cookie cutters, they made cookies of all different shapes. There were Christmas trees, Christmas wreaths and snowmen. When all the shapes were cut out, they were decorated with red and green sprinkles and little red hearts.
