Welcome to Mrs. Lawrence's 3rd Grade Class

Math

In 3rd Grade we will learn about numbers, measurement and space during Math lessons. PRINT these Multiplication Charts.

See some of the activities for each Math Unit below:

By the end of 3rd Grade you will be able to:

  1. Identify the place value for each digit in numbers to 10,000.

  2. Use expanded notation to represent numbers. (3,246 = 3,000+200+40+6)

  3. Find the sum or difference of two whole numbers between 0 and 10,000.

  4. Memorize the multiplication table for numbers between 1 and 10.

  5. Use the inverse relationship of multiplication and division to compute and check results.

  6. Solve simple problems involving multiplication of multidigit numbers by one digit numbers (3,671x3 = )

  7. Add and subtract simple fractions.

  8. Sove problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of money amounts in decimal notation and multiply and divide money amounts in decimal notation by using whole-number multipliers and divisors.

  9. Solve simple problems - eg Find the total cost of multiple items given the cost per unit.

  10. Estimate the area and volume of sold figures by covering them with squares or by counting the number of cubes that would fill them.

  11. Find the perimeter of a polygon with integer sides.

  12. Identify, describe, and classify polygons (including pentagons, hexagons, and octagons)

  13. Identify attributes of triangles (eg two equal sides for the isosceles triangle, three equal sides for the equilateral triangle, right angle for the right triangle)

  14. Summarize and display the results of probability experiments in a clear and organized way (eg use a bar graph or a line graph)
